What if life was simply a video game?
Let’s say before we decided to pop down to Earth we were told, “The object of this game is to discover your truth, by walking the path of awakening.
“It won’t be easy, though. The entire game is coded with massive distortion – a multiplex of feelings, thoughts, beliefs and experiences we bundle into core programs. You’ll be enticed towards many paths and you’ll be confused which way to go. At first glance, you’ll easily see that some levels are falsehoods. Then, you learned that you walked right by truth – camouflaged by the lenses you chose to wear.
“It will be difficult yet incredible. Excruciating yet mesmerizing. Unforgettable and mind-bending. Navigating the matrix may break you. Finally, as you travel across your game board, you earn bonus points for deeply living: for extracting all of the nectar out of every moment; finding the beauty in the game.”
This is the hardest level in the universe. Wouldn’t you agree?
There are winners all around us, though. We spot them peeking out with sparkled eyes and light laughter. They walk with grace and compassion. They feel deeply. They walk with wisdom. Here’s the kicker: the winners have likely experienced a hundred-fold greater pain than you or I. Yet despite all of that, they healed and found a way to forgive their nemeses and love their enemies. Most of all, they learned how to love all of their own parts. They learn how to laugh and not take life so seriously. They leave you feeling lighter while you ponder, “How can they have that much love in their heart, after they went through all that?”
How did they do it?
I’m not sure. But game on.

Loved this ‘Lift’ Kathy – something I’ve often felt: that life is a gift to enjoy and explore, not a drudge to endure. I think you’ve encapsulated concisely how we can shift into the gift mindset. Great stuff! xx
